Expatriates are encouraged to monitor the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website by searching for the keyword "China" on this site and the China page of the World Health Organisation (WHO) website regarding communicable diseases in the region.

Yes. Ambulances in Beilun and Ningbo are run by the Ningbo Medical First Aid Centre (Ningbo Ambulance Centre). In Beilun ambulance vehicles are based at the Hospital and controlled by a 24-hour dispatch centre (also located at the hospital), using Computer Aided Dispatch and GPS. There is also a comprehensive electronic map to assist with locating callers etc. People using the ambulance service must pay the driver in RMB cash upon arrival at the hospital. What do I need to bring for my consultation?
Bring with you any medications that you are currently taking or have recently stopped taking within the past week. Remember that medications have various brand names depending on which country it is from, so bringing it with you will help minimise any errors understanding what you are taking. Also seeing the medication allows us to ascertain the strength and dose. Bring your passport, as you will be required to disclose your passport number on the Patient Registration form you will complete. If you have any recent medical exam/test results (within the past 3 months) or results/consultations related to your reason for your consultation at the clinic, bring them too.
If you have some ongoing medical needs which have been under a physicians care elsewhere, and you are planning to relocate to China for an extended period of time, it is advisable that you organise to have your physician complete a medical report or clinical summary. It is advisable that you then present this report to us (or any physician you intend to use) for consistency in your ongoing care.
Do you offer direct billing services for medical insurance companies?
Unfortunately at this time NETD Central Hospital offers limited direct billing services, for some insurance companies.
As is the case for most things in China, it may be prudent to be prepared to make cash payment.
